Southern Africa, and East Africa

We have decided not to detail all our camping spots in Namibia And beyond, as with the use of the Tracks4Africa software, the ioverlander app, maps and books, the finding of suitable spots, both wild camping and campsites it is relatively easy in Southern Africa (compared to West Africa). If anyone wants any more info in these places please contact us.

All the campsites that we stayed in beyond the Caprivi Strip are all reviewed on the ioverlander app, it’s a great bit of kit and free, but please post your reviews when using it as its only as good as its latest update.

    • Diesel really is not a problem, strangely unleaded is much more of an issue, as most vehicles are diesel. we can comfortably reach 1200km on what we can carry so not really a problem, and of course its cheap!

    • Hi we bought an Inmarsat phone, but have never used it, it’s an expensive insurance really. 3G mobile networks are getting better all the time especially in lesser developed countries. Having said that I’m happy we have it with us
